Your questions answered

FAQs

Do they ruin your natural lashes?

No. When applied correctly and properly by a certified professional no damage is done to your natural lash. Be sure not to rub, tug or pull your extensions as it can cause lash loss and even damage the natural lash.

How often do I need to come in for fills?

We recommend every 2-3 weeks.

How long is the appointment?

Depending on the type of style you desire, your appointment can vary from 1 ½-2 hours.

Is it painful?

No. Eyelash extensions should not be painful.

What is the difference between Classic and Volume Lashes?

Classic lashes are one lash extension applied to one natural eyelash. Volume lashes involve applying fans of 2-6 extensions to one natural eyelash.

Are they waterproof?

We ask that you do not get your extensions wet for the first 12-24 hours while the adhesive is curing. You can resume your regular activities the following day.

Can I wear mascara with my eyelash extensions?

We advise you do not wear mascara as it can ruin the extensions and they will have to be completely removed and a full set will need to be applied again.

How do I know if I am a candidate?

Almost anyone can enjoy the benefit of eyelash extensions, but you may not be a candidate if you suffer from the following factors: if you rub your eyes (out of habit or allergies), seasonal allergies, highly sensitive skin, if you are currently ill with a sinus infection or cold, and if you are allergic to cyanoacrylate. *We advise you schedule a consultation if you have any further questions and/or concerns.

Are you a certified lash artist?

Yes! Certification was completed through Borboleta Beauty.

How do I prepare for my lash appointment?

Please arrive with a clean face and no eye makeup to your appointment. Please refrain from drinking caffeinated beverages prior to your appointment as it can make your eyelids flutter. Please also visit our client information page and download any applicable forms.

What is a facial?

A facial cleanses, exfoliates, and nourishes the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion and can help your skin look younger.

What is a chemical peel?

Chemical peels are skin-resurfacing treatments that can be tailored to the concerns of each client like aging, hyperpigmentation, acne, textured skin, and sensitivities. They work best in series of 4 or 6, 2 weeks apart. We recommend you schedule a consultation to further discuss.

How often should I get a facial?

We recommended getting a facial every 4-6 weeks.

How old do I need to be to get a facial?

You must be of an age of 12 and over with parental consent.

I have sensitive skin, am I able to get a facial/chemical peel?

Absolutely! We customize every treatment based on our clients needs.

I am taking Accutane, am I still able to get a facial?

Yes, of course! We advise you set up a consultation first to address your concerns.

Can I get a facial if I am pregnant?

Yes. Facials during pregnancy are especially important for many reasons. Your skin can be reflective of the hormonal changes occurring within your body and having regular services can help alleviate some of the symptoms( i.e. breakout, increased redness and sensitivity) when your usual products may be off-limits.

What skincare line do you use?

The only line we carry is Image Skincare. We love this brand for its dedication to stay as natural as possible all while delivering amazing results with high levels of active ingredients.

What is the difference between over the counter products and professional skincare?

While over the counter (OTC) products are cheaper and easily accessible, professional skincare products are specifically tailored to your skin needs. We strongly believe that using professional skincare products recommended by a licensed professional will better guide you to your goals using high quality products.

How should I prepare for my facial or peel?

If you are using products with active ingredients, Retin-A or any retinol-based products, we advise you stop all products 1 week prior. Please also visit our client information page and download any applicable forms.

Does waxing make my hair grow thicker?

No. Over time your hair becomes thinner. Hair is naturally tapered, shaving causes it to be blunt and coarse therefore causing it to feel rough.

Do you do full body waxing?

Yes. We wax everything from brows to toes and everything in between!

I take Accutane, can I still wax?

No. It is highly advised that you do not wax while taking Accutane, as your skin is more sensitive and can be permanently scarred if waxed. Do not have cosmetic procedures to smooth your skin, including waxing, dermabrasion, or laser procedures, while you are using Accutane and for at least 6 months after you stop.

I have dry and/or mature skin, can I still wax?

It varies from person to person, please schedule an in-person consultation to discuss furthermore.

Do you wax men?

Absolutely! We wax all genders! Please note, intimate male waxing is done only by Carly. Please call the salon if you have any questions or concerns.

How old do I have to be to be able to wax?

You must be 12 years and older with parental consent.

How do I prevent ingrown hairs?

Regular exfoliation before and after each treatment help prevent/lessen ingrown hairs as well as staying away from tight fitting clothing. The skin needs to be able to “breathe” after being waxed.

How often should I come in for waxing?

For best results, we recommend repeating your waxing service every 3-4 weeks.

What kind of wax do you use?

Our salon only uses Berodin® wax. A superior wax that is warmed at a low heat, making it gentle yet effective and ensuring a comfortable experience.

How do I prep for my waxing appointment?

For body waxing, hair must be a quarter of an inch long (about 10-14 days of growth) to adhere better to the wax. Hair longer than a quarter of an inch should be trimmed prior to your appointment to ensure your comfort and safety. We also ask that you gently exfoliate the night before to remove any dead skin build up and moisturize your skin. For facial waxing, please stop using any retinol or retinol-based products 4-5 days prior to your appointment as well as any products that have active ingredients. Please also visit our client information page and download any applicable forms.
